EMAIL CASE Study:

Two examples of possible business dialup, email configurations and the corresponding billing:

Case one:
A business wants four dial up accounts (3 in New York, 1 in New Jersey). They want a domain (ourcompany.com) for both a Web Server and Email Server addresses and a total of fourteen email users, 10 in New York, 4 in NewJersey (1 Account is the postmaster@ourcompany.com).

Billing Calculation:
The initial lead dialup account is $45 a month which includes hosting the Web Server (http://www.ourcompany.com), and setup of an email server (mail.ourcompany.com) so users can get email (user1@ourcompany.Com). The lead dial up account includes the first email account.

The second, third and fourth dialup account are $20.00 a piece, so these total to $60.00 Each of these three work with the companies domain and allow users to dial in. Since these accounts include one email each, this accounts for three email accounts @ourcompany.com.

Individuals Emails cost $5.00 each for business with the domain (user10@ourcompany.com). We offer a ten pack of emails for $40.00 a month or $4.00 per user which will all work with the domain. Larger discounts are available if greater the 100 eamil accounts or more then 10 dialup accounts. Call us for pricing.

So the customer will be billed monthly for:

Calculate Dialup costs:
Lead Dial Up Account with the Domain, Web and Email $45.00
Three follow on accounts@ 20.00 each for $60.00

Calculate Email Costs;
Since they have a total of 14 email users the bill without dial up would be 1 ten pack@40.00 plus 4 @$5.00 each or $60.00 per month. However since they will have a total of four dialup accounts which include email, we deduct 4 users so they will be billed only $40.00 a month. $40.00

Combine Dialup and email costs:
The total monthy bill will be: $145.00

Case Study Two:
A small business wants two dial up accounts (1 in Ohio, 1 In California). They want a domain (ourcompany.com) for both a Web Server and Email Server addresses and a total of three email users, 1 in Ohio, 2 in California (1 Account is the postmaster@ourcompany.com).

So the customer will be billed monthly for:

Calculate Dialup costs:
The Lead Dial Up Account with the Domain, Web and Email $45.00
One follow on accounts@ 20.00 each for $20.00

Calculate Email Costs;
Since they have a total of 3 email users the bill without dial up would be 3 @$5.00 each or $15.00 per month. However since they will have a total of two dialup accounts which include email, we deduct 2 users so they will be billed only $5.00 a month. $5.00

Combine Dialup and email costs:
The total monthy bill will be: $75.00

Other Note: The postmaster account is used when people mispell the email addresses and acts as a collecting account. If the domain is new, there is a one time fee of $200.00 to register the domain. If the domain is being tranfered in from another ISP, there is a one time fee of $50.00.
